Google Nexus 7 tablet to infringe Nokia patents

Infringements of patents has been a quite big issue in Apple’s and Samsung’s war, that it took the case into the court of United States. Now Nokia claims that Asus Google Nexus 7 tablet has infringed its patents. Nokia has not been so aggressive as Apple was, but it took an official action and reported to Asus and Google for the same issue.

Google Nexus 7 has some feature that were patent by Nokia, and also Google Asus both doesn’t have any license for the same feature that they included into it. The Nexus 7 supports IEEE 802.11 Wi-Fi standard which was earlier patented by Nokia.

According to Nokia:

“Nokia has more than 40 licensees, mainly for its standards essential patent portfolio, including most of the mobile device manufacturers. Neither Google nor Asus is licensed under our patent portfolio. Companies who are not yet licensed under our standard essential patents should simply approach us and sign up for a license.”

However, Nokia is very much lenient to Asus and Google, as it has not filed up any case regarding the same, just it has asked both companies to get a official license to use the feature.
