iPhone 5 officially launched with LTE and 4-inch display

Apple has finally unveiled its new iPhone, the iPhone 5, at apple press event in San Francisco. It’s the thinnest and lightest compares to other iPhon’s, weighing just 112g and measuring just 7.6mm in depth. It’s the same width as the one on the iPhone 4S, but taller.

Becoz of the extra height, you see, a 5th row of icons, while the bottom row of shortcuts is still restricted to four along. Apple is claiming that there is 44% more colour saturation than on its former model. The iPhone 5′s processor has been upgraded to Apple’s A6 SoC, which promises a twice as fast CPU than the iPhone 4S and two times faster graphics too.

The iPhone 5 comes with a metal back but the display has been made super lean by integrating the touch sensors into the screen technology itself.

Other specifications include ultrafast Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n – 2.4GHz and 5GHz), HSPA+, DC-HSDPA and 4G LTE network compatibility including EE support for the UK. Apple rates this new handset’s battery life at 8 hours of LTE web browsing.

No price or release date yet, but that will follow shortly…
