Good News for all Sony Xperia Samrtphone owners,Sony Mobile announced that they are upgrading their software to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for their 2011 Xperia Smartphones.The software will initially be made available for Xperia arc S, Xperia neo V and Xperia ray for consumers in Nordic Countries First.and after the update will available to other countries including India in coming 4-6 weeks.
According to Sony’s Blog -”You’ll be able to see when the software kit (customized specific to your operator and handset) is ready on our support community; http://talk.sonymobile.com – please continue to check in if your kit is not yet listed, as it will be updated when new kits become available.”
In order to upgrade your 2011 Xperia smartphone you will need to connect to a PC or Mac – please visit http://www.sonymobile.com/update and follow the instructions.
Company has also stated that in the current phase, update will available Xperia arc S, neo V and Ray. While Xperia arc, Xperia Play, Xperia neo, Xperia mini, Xperia mini pro, Xperia pro and Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman smartphones will receive the update in the next phase(from starting from the end of May/early June*).
The Android 4.0 update brings several new features including the brand new User Interface, Face Unlock, Task Switcher and new Contacts app & fastest OS right now.
