Kobian Mercury mTab Neo2 Tablet Design Features:
Kobian Mercury mTab Neo2 Tablet has 7 inches screen size. It is provided with an aspect ratio of 16:9. Touch screen facilities, which are of capacitive type, can be utilized on this tablet. This tablet has got 1600k color display. Special feature of this tablet is its high quality HD resolution. The one thing that we hate is the fact that Mercury is terribly misleading the consumer by calling the NEO 2 a dual-core tablet, when it actually has a single-core ARMv7 based CPU. The Linpack scores clearly point to a single-core 1GHz CPU and a very slow one at that.
Kobian Mercury mTab Neo2 Tablet Camera:
Dual Cameras are provided on this tablet. The rear camera is a 2MP sensor which is understandably quite poor and manages passable pictures only outdoors. The front camera is no different since it’s a VGA camera.
Kobian Mercury mTab Neo2 Tablet Memory:
Internal memory of this tablet is given as 8 GB. This internal memory can be expanded up to 32 GB using the micro SD card slot. It has been provided with support to e books, documents, music, photos, HD Movies, etc.
Kobian Mercury mTab Neo2 Tablet Connectivity:
The mTab NEO 2 supports 3G SIM for voice and data. The tablet features a dialer as well, but for audio you’ll have to either switch to speaker or wear the provided headset. It has also got Bluetooth connectivity along with GPS connective features. It can be connected to the internet through Wi-Fi connective features. SIM Functionality has also been provided on this tablet.
Kobian Mercury mTab Neo2 Tablet Battery life :
The NEO 2 comes with a 3400 mAh battery which gave us a decent 6hrs battery life in our video drain test. The only reason the tablet managed this number is due to the low resolution display and the fact that the brightness is not much.
Kobian Mercury mTab Neo2 Tablet has been tagged with the price Rs.14,999/-
PROS
- Good Build
- 1.2GHz dual-core processor
- 1080p MP4 playback
- Good Capacitive touchscreen
- Keyboard is really good in portrait mode
- SIM card slot
CONS
- Bad viewing angles
- No volume rocker
- Menu, Home and Power buttons could have been more ergonomic
Verdict
The Mercury mTab NEO 2 is expensive compared to other 3G 7-inch tablets. But the price is the least of their concerns, the tablet itself is quite a disappointment and it seems like they learnt nothing from their past models. It is a little difficult to recommend the Neo2, especially when you can get the iBerry Auxus AX02 for around Rs. 10,000 running ICS straight out of the box.
