HTC just has released their very own Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update list.Well its a great news for HTC user who waited long to get a scoop of android 4.0 Ice cream sandwich.
According to the official HTC blog here’s when the updates will be sent to these devices.”The majority of devices will receive upgrades in June and July 2012 and we expect to finish upgrades in August 2012 for all announced devices.-HTC blog Reads.”
As per the post, here is a look at which handsets will receive Android Ice Cream Sandwich and when:
March to June Release : HTC EVO 4G+, HTC Sensation, HTC Sensation 4G, HTC Sensation XE, HTC Sensation XL, HTC Vivid,HTC Amaze 4G,HTC Velocity 4G
June to July Release : HTC EVO 3D, HTC EVO Design 4G, HTC Incredible S, HTC Rezound, HTC Rhyme,HTC Desire S
July to August Release : HTC Desire HD, HTC Thunderbolt
In Blog Post also Said that it can take up to 45 days for all carriers and countries to get the update after a rollout has begun.If your phone has not received the update after the 45-day period,You can also Manually check for update navigate to Settings>About>Software Updates.
And also Mention that Not all HTC devices gets Android 4.0 ICS update,The Devices which doesn’t are “devices with 512MB RAM or less will not be upgraded to Android 4.0. These devices include the HTC ChaCha, HTC Salsa, HTC Wildfire S, HTC Explorer, and others. hey go on to add, “HTC tablets, including the HTC Flyer, HTC EVO View 4G, and HTC Jetstream, will remain on their current Android version (Honeycomb). Upgrades are not the same thing as ongoing support. Devices not being upgraded to Android 4.0 will still get software improvements, security fixes, and technical support as needed.”
