Amazon released its cloud music player this Tuesday. The application is for iPhone and iPod. The cloud music player allows the users to download the music from their amazon accounts, play the existing collection of music in their devices and also to create and manage playlists on their devices.
The cloud player is an application that provides access to individual’s collection of music from anywhere. Buy the music once and access it on your devices everywhere. The Amazon’s cloud player is not an application for sale of music, rather it helps to download from online account, play and manage the music.
Steve Boom, Vice President of digital music for amazon said:
Customers tell us that they want access to all of their music, wherever they are, and on all of the devices they use,”
By bringing Cloud Player to iPhone and iPod touch, we now have the most widely compatible cloud playback solution available, giving our customers the ability to buy once and enjoy their music everywhere.”
Amazon has been a rival to Apple’s iTunes. It also has a tablet, the Kindle Fire, which is a challenge for the Apple’s iPad. Though Amazon does not let out the sales data for Kindle Fire, but the analysts believe that the sales of the tablet from Amazon have been slipping down.
Some rumours also depict that Amazon is getting ready for the expansion of its app store for Android and iOS platforms, in a more direct challenge to Apple and Google. If this is true, the users can surely expect a boom in the number of applications for their smartphones.
Some reports say Amazon is readying an expansion of its app store to more international markets and the Android platform in a more direct challenge to Apple and Google.
